The Cranberries Detail 25th Anniversary 'Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We' Reissue
Published Aug 30, 2018As previously promised, the Cranberries will release a 25th anniversary reissue of their 1993 debut album Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We. It's due out October 19 via UMC.
It will arrive as a 4-CD bundle, containing a remastered version of the album, as well as bonus discs featuring radio sessions, live performances, demos and B-sides. In addition to the music, the package contains a series of Polaroid photo prints.
The remastered album will also be released in one- and two-CD formats, as well as on standard black vinyl and limited-edition clear vinyl.
Plans for the reissue were in motion prior to frontwoman Dolores O'Riordan's death earlier this year. In a statement given prior to her passing, she explained the origin of the album's title.
"Elvis wasn't always Elvis," she said. "He wasn't born Elvis Presley, he was a person who was born in a random place, he didn't particularly have a lot but he became Elvis. And Michael Jackson was born somewhere and he became Michael Jackson and so on and so forth. And I thought we were just born in a random place so why can't we be that successful as well? And I believed we could but the majority of people were saying, 'You're absolutely nuts, you're not going to make it, you can't make any money out of it, you should do cover versions!'"
