Erykah Badu and D.R.A.M. Are Working on a Collaborative EP
Published Nov 23, 2016Neo-soul icon Erykah Badu recently collaborated with D.R.A.M. on the young artist's solo debut, but it appears the two have more in store than a one-off feature, with Badu revealing that a joint EP of work is in the pipeline.
Badu revealed the news on the Rap Radar podcast, giving D.R.A.M. some high praise in the process. "He's this enigma... if George Clinton, Ol' Dirty Bastard and D'Angelo had a baby, that's D.R.A.M."
Badu revealed that their first collaborative track, "Wifi," will appear on the upcoming EP. She also spoke about what it was like to work with D.R.A.M. after discovering that the two were mutual fans of one another's work.
"He's something very special. The way he writes, the way he performs, the way he fills a room with his presence. And he knows who he is. You get the sense he knows and appreciates who he is, and doesn't allow infiltration."
D.R.A.M.'s debut LP, Big Baby D.R.A.M., is out now, while Badu's But You Caint Use My Phone arrived last year. D.R.A.M. was also recently seen recording with Canadian rocker Neil Young, an interesting addition that would certainly raise the stakes of the upcoming EP even higher.
